While discussing about the outbreak of Corona virus State minister said that there have no new cases been reported in the state of Covid 19. He also added that the citizen of kerala should maintain high alert on Covid 19 till the situation gets under control. He also said that a Mallu who has residing in Mahe has tested positive for the virus. According to the reports, at present 18011 people are under observation. Among them. 17744 people remains in home isolation while 268 are under quarantine in various hospitals. Meanwhile, 65 persons have been newly admitted to hospitals and 5372 have been newly kept under observation. 4353 people were discharged from isolation after their test results came negative.
“There is no panic stricken situation in the state now. We are arranged proper facilities to observe the conditions of all suspected coronavirus cases. Quality treatment will be assured for all those who test positive for the virus. People should also take notice that it is more important to follow the guidelines issued by the government,” he added.
Pinarayi Vijayan also asserted that the government would be forming an expert committee to advise it on the steps needed to be taken with regard to the pandemic. And the state government has also decided to start up an “interactive web portal” for the public and also a “digital consultation” headed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). He said that the pandemic has affected the state’s economy as well ,
the government has taken necessary steps to ease the issues faced by the people in this regard. “The impact by the COVID-19 on the state’s economy is really huge. The people who have taken loans are facing it difficult to pay them back. We discuss it with the State-level Bankers” Committee (SLBC) and sought extension time to repay the loan. We have also sought for relaxation of the interest on the loans taken by the people,” Vijayan said.
The state government also said that to help those who “working in home”, it would ensure there are no potential cuts.
